Responsibilities

  • Support the children with their weekday morning routine and preparation for school/daycare
  • Complete school and daycare drop-offs in Carramar and Joondalup
  • On required afternoons, collect from the classroom and complete daycare pick-up
  • Provide safe, engaged care at home until the parent returns, including snacks, play, quiet time and normal routines
  • Support positive transitions and offer calm reassurance when a child needs time to decompress after school
  • Maintain clear communication with the parent and Babysitters on Demand

Roster pattern

Morning care is required on weekdays while the parent is working. Afternoon shifts vary depending on the FIFO roster:

  • When the FIFO parent is away, morning and afternoon care is generally required Monday to Friday
  • During R&R periods, afternoon care is generally required on Wednesday and Friday only
  • You don't need to memorise the cycle before applying, but must be comfortable with a roster that moves across the calendar and is planned in advance

Essential requirements

  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Current First Aid and CPR
  • Full driver's licence
  • Reliable, roadworthy and appropriately insured vehicle suitable for transporting children
  • Strong references and relevant childcare, babysitting or nanny experience
  • Availability for an ongoing weekday roster, including early mornings and selected afternoons

Additional information

The family will provide the appropriate child restraints and booster seats for transport.

Babysitters on Demand completes screening, reference checks and a suitability assessment before any candidate is introduced to the family. The priority is finding a strong long-term match rather than simply filling the first available shift.
